Could you introduce yourself and tell us more about BNP Paribas?
I’m Michael Poulmans, working for BNP Paribas Fortis, a subsidiary of the BNP Paribas group.
We are a finance company, and the department I work in focuses on large companies and mid-caps, mostly in Belgium. Though many are active worldwide, and we try to service them globally.
What challenges did you face producing materials for sales teams?
We were producing a lot of materials to support salespeople in their activity.
We had no clear idea what they were doing with it, when they were using it, how they were using this material, or if it made any sense.
What stood out about Showpad, and how did it impact your content creation process?
They had a solution that was really tailored to this specific problem — not a big package with some features that could help us. It allows for a lot of different content formats, all managed in one application.
A lot of material wasn’t used. Many things we produced were probably just given to a customer but never really discussed in a sales conversation. Based on that insight, we had to reinvent all our sales material.
To truly support the salespeople, we needed different content — content that is much more interactive, giving much more insight to the customer, and no longer just static documents that explain what we do.
