What challenges were you facing with content distribution to your sales teams?
We faced many challenges distributing content to our global sales teams. We used to have an online system, and we would send out emails to notify salespeople about new content. But salespeople didn’t always see these emails, and they didn’t always download the content. Sometimes it just got lost in the process.
What were you looking for in a solution to address these challenges?
We were searching for a solution that would allow us to distribute content quickly, simply, and easily — ideally through a tablet. The combination of using a tablet and Showpad turned out to be the perfect solution for us.
We chose Showpad because we needed something that was powerful and flexible from a back-end perspective. Our organization is complex, and we need to structure content in a way that reflects that complexity. But the front-end needed to be simple, so salespeople could access what they need immediately. Immediacy was the challenge we were trying to solve, and Showpad met that need.
How are you using Showpad now, and what results have you seen?
We’ve added a lot of new content into Showpad, and now we’re introducing HTML5 applications. We entered one particular app into the SAM awards this year because it helped us bring a lot of content together for a standard product, but allowed us to sell it in a new way. We’re now focusing on selling solutions, combining products and using a guided approach. The app also includes ROI tools to help our salespeople sell the value.
The results have been really impressive. We’ve made our salespeople more efficient, and reduced the need for them to create their own presentations. They can use standard content to create custom presentations for their customers, which has made them feel more proficient, professional, and efficient.
What are your three favorite things about Showpad?
First, it’s incredibly simple to use. A salesperson can open their tablet, find the content they need, and they’re good to go. Second, the showcase feature makes it easy to distribute content — especially videos, which were historically difficult. Now they can send content instantly. Third, salespeople can see what their customers are looking at, and that’s extremely powerful from a sales perspective.
